I’ve been looking at new gear recently, just to see what’s out there, what the prices are at etc.  Money has to be spent elsewhere unfortunately, but it never hurts staying in tune with whats on the market.   These skates popped up in one of the hockey equipment image results- never knew goalies even had the option of a ridiculously tall blade- but apparently its more common than you think.

I’m no goalie, but I would have thought if you lifted a goalie an extra inch off the ice, that would throw off his lower half game with his balance and height.   I guess I’m wrong, after I did a little research on the company MLX, they’re not the most popular brand out there, but they’re very highly respected among the people who do wear their gear.  Gonna keep my eye out at the rink to see if anyone is rocking a pair of these bad boys.
