KHL’s Russian Dynamo’s team rejects Alex Ovechkins idea of playing for the squad
Keyword: khl, dynamo’s, alex ovechkin
So it seems the Great one isn’t so great in his home town anymore. Dynamo Moscow president Arkadi Rotenberg made news over the weekend when he said Alex Ovechkin “wasn’t necessary” for his reigning KHL champions, should the Washington Capitals star head to Russia during an NHL lockout.
This is a big shock to not only Ovechkin but his mother as well who was confused about the article that was put out. Pretty much they have decided that the youth of the sport is more important than the great one himself and I agree.
Rotenberg told SovSport his reasons, and told them to Ovechkin’s mother as well:
“I think we don’t need Ovechkin. I even spoke to his mother. She called when she didn’t understand the article.
“His mom clarified: ‘Should he play for Dynamo for free and you will finance the youth sports academy with that money?’ But the point is in something else. When Safronov asked me about Ovechkin, I told him ‘We will not try to outbid for players. It’s better to spend that three million [dollars] that they would spend [on Ovechkin] on children. They are our future.’
“Alex’s mom asked: ‘And if he wants to play for another team where he would be paid differently?’ I replied: ‘Fair enough. But personally I am not prepared to spend money on it.’ ”
Moral of the story guys whether it’s in the United States or in Russia, the NHL or the KHL it’s all about MONEY!!

Yeah so what else is there to do in the off season besides hang-10 at photo shoots when you are Henrik Lundqvist and Brad Richards. Can someone tell me who gave Richards a pass to thinking he’s a good looking dude? That’s right Brad sit back and what how Lundy does it.
With the NHL on the brink of locking out this year will we see big name Stars going to the KHL?
Keyword: nhl, khl, lockout, star players
Okay so help me understand this please, the NHL goes on a marketing run teaming up with NBC allowing them to televise more hockey which was the most incredible thing that has ever happened. You boosted your ratings, captured a lot more fans and were very close to having hockey be a staple in the homes on most Americans and now you are going to take a big steaming dump on the whole thing and let this season lockout?
Rumors are flying around like the birds right now that you will have a lot NHL stars jump ship to go play in the KHL and how could you blame them. How is it fair for First and Second Round Draft Picks who are expected to step into the line up sit out a year because of greed. Let them play hockey because at the end of the day the KHL is the one who benefits from this and the fans are the ones who suffer.
What happens to the players that don’t cash in on escrow checks owed to them buy their owners? Logical, they go and play hockey in the KHL, plain and simple and more players than you think are exploring that option. This is not looking good for the NHL as all arrows point to Russia right now which will become a hot bed of stellar hockey players.
We will keep you posted on who will be jumping ship in the event that the owners can’t gap the bridge in the negotiations and I have a feeling that it is going to be a long list. ” Cough” “Cough” Ovechkin might be on the top.
Swedish player Eric Przepiorka punches his coach and gets a “promotion”
Keyword: swedish league, eric przepiorka, punch coach
See what happens when you stick up for yourself an clock your coach, you get a promotion. More like a demotion or is it? , this is one of the funniest stories I have heard in hockey in a long time except for some stories I have from road trips which I am sure are not censored for the internet. Don’t worry one day I will get the green light and tell you all about them but for now back to the punch heard around the world.
Why did Eric Przepiorka punch his coach you ask? simple he was removed from the power play during a preseason game. It would appear he also said later that sitting at the bench was “[expletive] boring.” Now because punching your coach in the face never gets you more playing time Przepiorka was cut from the team.
Eric Przepiorka was the big star in Olofström IK a club in the Swedish Division 1 (third tier). But after hitting his in own coach Tim Brithén during a preseason game versus Örebro on Saturday Przepiorka was released by his club. The reason for the attack is said to be that “Prez” was furious after not getting enough ice time on the power play.
“We don’t really have anything to say about the situation more than that the coach so close to sacred you can be in a team. There are limits for what you can do. We as a club distances ourself from this and the situation would have been impossible”, manager Simon Skoog told Swedish hockey blog MrMadhawk.se about the decision to release Eric Przepiorka from his contract.
But don’t feel too bad for Przepiorka. He won’t be without a team long, as he’s rumoured to be joining Swedish club Asplöven of HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-tier league. Asplöven hasn’t confirmed the signing, but reliable Swedish blog Mr. Madhawk is reporting it.
Can you believe that? punch your coach in the mouth and get promoted to a better division, not a bad wrap huh but was this done on purpose? Second tier team needs big star but can’t get him out of his contract how can we pull this off, Oh, blast your coach in the face, easy enough.
Let this be a lesson guys you want something in life like to get that big raise punch your boss in the face. Shit that sounds pretty cool, I might try that today, I’ll let you know how it goes.
In honor of the up and coming lockout we wanted to put Bettman on Front street
Keyword: wepuckny, pic of the day, gary bettman
So now we know why the players can’t get what they deserve and I guess this is how the rich stay rich. How do you have a man who couldn’t even stand in a pair of skates running one of the greatest leagues in the world. What a joke you are Bettman. Oh and you probably suffer from E. D and your wife cheats on you.
With the NHL lockout staring us right in the face will Shane Doan have a place to call home?
Keyword: shane doan, deadline, phoenix coyotes
This story just seems to never go away does it? Will this guys just make a decision already and we can put it to rest. Shane Doan who is still and unsigned free agent better make up his mind and make it up soon. Shane Doan or shall I say Dora the Explorer has visited every East Coast team you can think of, I think he even stopped in and tried to work out a deal with the Yankees.
With the NHL lockout staring us right in the face it seems that Shane Doan and his agent will have a place for him to call home before September 15th, 2012.
“Shane is going to sign a contract before the CBA expires on the 15th,” said Doan’s agent, Terry Bross.
“(Ownership has to) be done before the 15th, otherwise we’re signing somewhere because we don’t know what the new CBA is going to look like, and I don’t know if it’s going to limit any scope of a contract, so we want to make sure we sign before then.
“I guess from that respect, time is ticking.”
Everyone thinks this guy is going to stay in Phoenix and good for him if he does but I’m saying its all a bullshit act to make him look like mister nice guy and he’s going to jump ship and be able to point the finger like someone else didn’t get the job done. Time will tell where he will land but my gut is tell me somewhere in the Western Conference.
